SalishCenter.org is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the health and preservation of the Salish Sea. Our mission is focused on bringing public awareness to the success stories, and some of the pitfalls, that keep the Salish Sea strong and resilient. In order for the Southern Resident Orcas to thrive, many elements need to be addressed; among these, are restoring salmon habitats and mandating responsible fishing methods. We know that a combination of good policy and strong political determination can change the future of the Salish Sea. Our job is to support the nonprofits that are doing the hard work of habitat restoration and ecosystem research.

With committed effort and expertise, along with long-term strategies, we are collaborating with scientists and volunteers in rebuilding local salmon runs and making major contributions to the survival of our Southern Resident Orcas. Our vision of a revitalized Salish Sea is supported by citizens, throughout our region and around the world.

Significant to our mission is educating the public of the monumental efforts in restoring and healing the Salish Sea; celebrating the magnificent seafood that is grown and harvested here; and how working together, we can insure that its great heritage will continue into a thriving future.

We greatly appreciate our sponsors: Lummi Island Wild and Pike Place Chowder, and proudly support Long Live the Kings, Northwest Straits Foundation, and Oceans Initiative.
