🎉 It's official! Washington has declared September 2025 as Eat Local Month! 🌱🍽️ Join us in celebrating our incredible local farmers, fishers, chefs, food artisans, farmers market managers, and food system partners who work tirelessly to bring fresh, sustainable food to our communities.
Pike Place Chowder is committed to using locally sourced ingredients, including fresh produce selections that come directly from Pike Place Market, while our creamy chowders feature heavy cream from local dairies in Kent, Washington. Our fresh sourdough bread comes from Grand Central Bakery, a local Seattle bakery, and over 90% of our dining materials are fully compostable. Made fresh daily in small batches, our chowders minimize food waste while delivering bold, award-winning flavors.
Our seafood is 100% Certified Sustainable from responsibly managed fisheries to help protect marine ecosystems and preserve fish populations for the future. Pike Place Chowder proudly participates in the Lummi Reefnet Festival, a vibrant celebration of traditional, sustainable reefnet fishing by Indigenous communities of the Salish Sea. This partnership reflects our commitment alongside The Salish Center for Sustainable Fishing Methods and their Wave Warriors initiative to protect local waters amid rapid population growth, rebuild healthy wild salmon populations, and conserve the last 74 Southern Resident Orcas of the Salish Sea.
Let's support and uplift those who keep our food systems thriving across the state! 🙌 How will you support local farms and food this month?
